The BTN has a terrible habit of getting caught showing someone jogging down the floor while the Spartans are scoring a fast break bucket.

The commentators don't seem to be any more knowledgeable than the ones on ESPN, in general, which I had hoped for better on. The studio show with Gene Keady is better than whatever refugees ESPN throws in there nightly.

The Morgan stat is correct. Looks like it could be a function of him playing poorly on the road, though.

On the season, he's average 13.0 points on the road; 16.6 at home.

Conference play only: He's averaging 11.3 on the road; 14.3 at home.

The only conference road game he's scored more than 12 points in was at NW.

Getting a big game from him on the road would certainly be a boost.

It's odd, but it is hard to find anyone in the media, or in the Blogosphere who thinks MSU will win this game. This suggests to me that the losses at Purdue and Indiana earlier this year have changed the perception of MSU basketball, both by the experts, and by the spartan fans. There have just been too many of these defeats in the last couple years to lead these people to believe that MSU can win these games.

Unfortunately, this is probably true for opposing teams as well. They play MSU with a level of confidence they did not have in 2003, say, or even 2005, where they still assumed the big bad Spartans could come into any gym in America and win. Let's face it, the spartans have lost that pyschological edge.

Keys for this game? I agree with the general assessment that Morgan and Neitzel have to play well, though I think Morgan is really the key. Since MSU will not put Wisconsin into foul trouble if they shoot jump shots. If Morgan shoots more than 6 foul shots, I think they win. For the same reason, I think Gray/Naymick/Suton need to play well. If one or more of those four guys have two foulds at the half, it will be a long game.

Do I think they will win? I wish I did, I really do. But I admit my perceptions changed once and for all about this team at about the 15 minute mark of the first half against Indiana. I hope I am wrong.

According to msuspartans.cstv.com, Michigan State is a perfect 17-0 when Morgan scores more than 12 points. Although that seems fairly straight-forward, I could have sworn that we have lost games when he was productive on the offensive end. Please don't get two fouls in the first minute-and-a-half, Raymar!
