This is your blog, you’ve done a great job with basketball, so don’t let anyone tell you what to do. That in mind, I’d love to see some football links, especially exposing new stuff like groundzeroeastlansing. If I could ask anything, try to avoid too much redundancy with others (ESPN Big10, Enlightened Spartan, Spartan Tailgate, Sparty MSU) as I bet a lot of the tech savvy fans already read those.
Umm, how about option 3: pepper it in for good times, non-committally, and let the commenters like me feel like we are posting our own little blog with extended comments/links. Given the responses in the previous post, it looks like there is some decent football knowledge going around, especially with Ben* and others commenting. If the team builds momentum right away, I gather we’ll want to talk about it more; if it’s a halfway disaster, let’s avoid the depression and talk about it less, if we have Don Treadwell boners to pick on, then let’s lay it all out as a cathartic experience.
*Picking up on the writing style, I’m assuming commenter Ben is the same Ben from the dearly three-quarters departed Up With The Colors.
kj… I watch every Spartan football game available to me, but try not invest too many emotions in the team. Personally, I find collegiate and professional football overrated… Does that come from growing up a Lions/Spartans football fan? That said, can’t remember any post that I thought, “This shouldn’t be here.” The football links tide me over until basketball. I just hope the amazing basketball analysis, recaps, recruiting information, etc. doesn’t deteriorate. Don’t think I won’t visit this site on a weekly basis rather than daily!!! Again, great stuff.
I think the football stuff is fun and there really won’t be all that much to talk about bball-wise (barring any offseason injuries) until they start playing preseason games.

I second on the groundzeroeastlansing thing.
DP99 — yeah, that’s me.

I’d like to see the occassional Spartan football story, at least until basketball heats up. It *IS* a SPARTAN weblog, after all…
