Joe Rexrode is reporting that Goran Suton may have to sit out the Old Spice Classic due to lingering knee problems. Suton will certainly be limited in terms of minutes, and arthroscopic surgery is a possibility, which would mean 2-3 weeks of missed time.
This would be (is) a major blow to MSU’s advantage over the other teams in the tournament in terms of depth. Coupled with the fact that Delvon Roe can’t be expected to play 20+ minutes per game three times in four days at this point in his recovery from injury, MSU could be very shallow up front.
If ever we needed Marquise Gray to step up for a multi-game stretch, this would be the time.
Kind of funky how everyone has been talking about how incredibly deep this team is… and now we’re losing one player and it could potentially be a large blow.
Maybe… this is a blessing in disguise. Hopefully.
I feel like Travis Walton getting a minor injury and sitting out would be more of a blessing in disguise
